What works better than a monster/robot fight than comedic song changes? I took the pressure of song timing off by changing the songs played multiple times, which helped combine the two distinct storylines (mundane and epic) into something that leans silly, but still has some good action moments in it.

Phantom of the Opera's "Notes..."
I've always loved Phantom of the Opera and "Notes..." was a favorite for the emotion and silliness involved. I didn't realize how long the actual song was until I finished my thumbnails for all seven minutes (whoops), but I decided to go forward anyway.
This is my first storyboard (and animatic). Since I'm self-teaching, I hope each project will show improvement.

"Ember" set to Adele's Set Fire to the Rain
Putting music behind boards and having the two be completely independent of each other is something I've never tried before. The timing was a whole different kind of puzzle. And it's all certainly a learning curve. Here's to moving forward.

Wicked the Musical's "No One Mourns the Wicked"
Wicked is one of my favorite musicals. It was a fun challenge boarding the first minute before the singing begins. It helped to think of it as a feature project instead of an individual scene, isolated. I ended up using a lot of spot color due to the Emerald City, Yellow Brick Road, Ruby Red Shoes, flashbacks, the green of Elphaba's skin....Of course I didn't consider that those big opening scenes usually have crowds.

Wicked the Musical's "Dear Old Shiz"
It returns! My pet project of Wicked the Musical continues on (in order so far) with the continuation of "No One Mourns the Wicked" and the main storyline can properly begin. "Dear Old Shiz" is short and little happens in the actual song, because it's essentially a second introduction. This required some additional recording of the dialogue to set the scene a little better and allow for later numbers to stand on their own.
